Jeremiah 23:12-16 Wherefore their way shall be unto them as slippery ways in the darkness: they shall be driven on, and fall therein: for I will bring evil upon them, even the year of their visitation, said the LORD. And I have seen folly in the prophets of Samaria; they prophesied in Baal, and caused my people Israel to err. I have seen also in the prophets of Jerusalem an horrible thing: they commit adultery, and walk in lies: they strengthen also the hands of evildoers, that none doth return from his wickedness: they are all of them unto me as Sodom, and the inhabitants thereof as Gomorrah. Therefore thus said the LORD of hosts concerning the prophets; Behold, I will feed them with wormwood, and make them drink the water of gall: for from the prophets of Jerusalem is profaneness gone forth into all the land.
‘Wherefore their way shall be unto them as slippery ways in the darkness: they shall be driven on, and fall therein: for I will bring evil upon them, even the year of their visitation, said the LORD.’ This is the 46th prophecy in Jeremiah (23:12). Two predictions are fulfilled: The ways of the false prophets and priests will always be slippery; they will be driven on and fall therein (23:12). ‘Therefore thus said the LORD of hosts concerning the prophets …’ This is the 47th prophecy in Jeremiah (23:15-22) verses 15-19, 21-22 are fulfilled; verse 20 is unfulfilled. Two predictions are fulfilled: I will feed them with wormwood, and make them drink the water of gall (23:15). The whirlwind of the Lord has gone forth, and it will fall upon the head of the wicked (23:19).
Two predictions are unfulfilled: The anger of the Lord will not return until He has executed and performed the thoughts of His heart (23:20). In the latter days you will consider it perfectly when this shall come to pass at the end during the tribulation.
